New office space in Edinburgh
The completion of Pure Offices has created new grade-A flexible office space in Edinburgh.
Located right next to Edinburgh Park Central tram station, the building used to be the Scottish headquarters of Diageo, a British multi-national spirits and beer distiller. As well as the tram, it has great links to the train line, ,the M8, the city bypass and the airport.
Now, the 33,000 square feet site contains 90 serviced office suites, meeting rooms and modern lounges across three floors. There are three business lounges, and suites which can fit teams of up to 100 people. There is ultra-fast fibre broadband connectivity and on-site parking.
The refit has seen the building gutted and rebuilt, with three business lounges. Individual office suites can fit teams from one to 100.
The transformation was carried out by specialist fit out firm Estilo and locally-based BUD Architecture.
Pure Office operations director Katie Whell said: “We couldn’t be happier with the finished result here at Edinburgh Park.
“While it is clearly a challenging time for all, we are excited to launch our brand new office development and believe it’s what businesses will increasingly turn to as they look for more flexible alternatives to city centre offices and leased space.
“We believe larger firms looking to consolidate office space while accommodating a blend of home working will be among those attracted to the centre.
“Likewise, following recent economic turbulence we’re anticipating a surge in start-up activity.”
Co-working spaces are usually associated with freelancers and the self-employed, but they can also be lifesavers for remote workers. Working from home just doesn’t suit everyone, as it blurs the boundaries between work-time and home-time to a degree that some people find unhelpful.
A unique city-centre co-working space like this would definitely be perfect for remote workers to create that distance between their home-selves and their work-selves, and so become more productive and satisfied.
Our Self-Service Module (SSM) enables employees to clock themselves in and out from an internet browser or a mobile app, as well as allowing them to request holidays and register doctor appointments.
Most importantly for sceptical business owners, if employees use the mobile phone app version of this module, their movements can be tracked through GPS and plotted onto a map.
