New Edinburgh flexible workspace

Clockwise, a provider of flexible workspaces, will open their second Scottish premises in a Leith warehouse.

Its first Scottish workspace was the refurbished Savoy Tower in Glasgow.

The new building, which will be named Clockwise Commercial Quay, is intended to act as a hub for Edinburgh start-ups and SMEs, giving them a base to work from. It will provide 60 office units with a total of 354 desks, in a mix of club lounge workspaces, co-working desks and private offices. Tenants can choose from three flexible office membership options or traditional leases.

Restaurant tech firm Orders Made Simple, orchestral sample library developer Spitfire Audio and digitised car rental firm Nuvven have already signed pre-lease agreements.

We certainly expect to build on that success here. Our waterside location, in an area full of renowned food and drink hotspots, and thriving community and arts scene, make Leith an obvious spot to invest in a flexible workspace where businesses can grow, relocate, or open a new city base.”

Many time and attendance systems require physical hardware, which can’t be installed when you don’t own the place where you work. Others only work in the cloud, which may not be suitable for your company’s needs due to bandwidth, security and software compatibility concerns.

Companies which have flexible workspaces, work remotely or in other ways cannot utilise physical hardware can instead use our Self Service Module (SSM)

This allows employees to clock in and out using either a browser version, or a mobile phone app. They can also request holiday using this app, which eliminates the need for cumbersome paper holiday forms. All the time data is sent straight to the central software, where you can view it in a number of formats.

The mobile app will also geolocate the employee when they clock in, which can be useful for monitoring times at different sites or other workflow concerns.
